Join us for a winter's evening of Vampires and live gothic music as we explore the murky worlds of both fictional and real-life blood drinkers...
Our night's speakers, Paul Adams and Kaja Franck, will explore the difference between vampires of literature and their real-life counterparts.
Paul, the author of Written in Blood: A History of the British Vampire, will focus on the history of 20th century vampiric and vampire-inspired murders beginning with Peter Kurten and including John Haigh (The Acid Bath Murderer), Matthew Hardman, Allan Menzies, James Riva, Richard Trenton Chase, Jessica Staninowsky and Roderick Ferrell. All of these people had a fascination with human blood-drinking which ultimately gravitated to murder!

Academic Kaja Franck, who completed her masters on vampire literature and is currently studying for his PhD on werewolves, will discuss fictional vampires and their blood lust. The killers presented in Paul’s talk are people whose actions render them barely human. In contrast vampires in fiction are becoming, if not more human, than more sympathetic.

Kaja and Paul will be joined by performances from Milligan who will entertain us with a selection of Gothic and Alt tunes "unplugged" to create the ultimate in atmospheric vampire horror!
Tickets at the door are £10 for Spooky London members and £12 for non-members.
We look forward to seeing there.
