Everyone is talking about blockchain, but if we're being honest, it's hard to understand how it works, what it's good for and who's actually using it. There are many ways that blockchain technology can be leveraged in sports-tech, this panel will discuss how you can apply this exciting technology in sports. Hosted in partnership with Blockchain Boston Meetup, Starting Blocks will feature co-founders Ray Austin and Patrick Dees from the Fan-Controlled Football League.
Joining the panel is Gayatri Sarkar, an investor and GP at Sportvest -- a Sport VC fund on blockchain. She sits on the board of multiple blockchain and non-blockchain startups.
Moderating the meetup is Arne Hessenbruch, lecturer at MIT and partner at Muninsight.
About the Fan-Controlled Football League
The FCFL lets fans draft players, select coaches and call real-time plays using blockchain to provide decision-making transparency to the process. The FCFL also uses its ERC20-compatible FAN Token as the mechanism for accruing voting power; they were the first ICO on Indiegogo where they surpassed their $5 million soft cap in ten days.
