The Bennett Mountain Trail, which can be found on https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/bennett-mountain, is a beautiful 3.6 mile hike out and back, with a 616 ft elevation gain. The trail is a gorgeous experience, and the peak has a magnificent overlook of the Front Range from 8,045 feet. The hike is mostly easy, with moderate difficulty toward the top. Boots, sunglasses, windbreakers and hats will be needed, and you should plan on bringing water and snacks in a day pack. It is advised to bring poles and/or microspikes if you have them, to avoid slippage on descent from the top. We will meet at the trailhead at 9:00; a high-clearance vehicle is best for the gravel and dirt road up to the trailhead, and car pooling is advised because parking is limited. Directions can be found on Google Maps as Bennett Mountain, Sedalia, Colorado 80135. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed.
