We're going to try the Blodgett Open Space extended loop again after being snowed out last Saturday; this coming Saturday looks like it will be sunny and warm. The hike itself, pulled together by some frequent Springs Trail Hikers, may be found on https://api-v5.alltrails.com/explore/recording/afternoon-hike-at-blodgett-peak-open-space-connector-loop-e70088c?p=120026429&sh=j20c5w&utm_medium=map_share&utm_source=alltrails_virality. It is combination of trails in Blodgett Open Space that is rated as easy/moderate in difficulty, with the main challenge being a steady climb for the first third of the hike, and possibility in winter of slippage on mud or residual ice/snow. Boots, sunglasses, windbreakers and hats will be needed, and you should plan on bringing water and snacks in a day pack. It is advised to bring microspikes and/or hiking poles if you have them. We will meet at 9:00 at the trailhead at Blodgett Open Space, 3786 Woodmen Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80919, which can be found on Google Maps. It is advised to be early because parking is limited. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed.
