The Rampart Reservoir via Rainbow Gulch Trail, which can be found on AllTrails at https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/rampart-reservoir-via-rainbow-gulch-trail is a spectacular experience above Woodland Park. It is 3.7 miles there and back, with a total elevation gain of 285 feet. Boots, sunglasses, windbreakers and hats will be needed, and you should plan on bringing water and snacks in a day pack. It is advised to bring microspikes and/or poles if you have them, to avoid slippage on residual snow or ice. We will meet at 8:30 at the trailhead at #714 Rainbow Gulch Trailhead, Colorado Springs, CO 80921, which can be found on Google Maps. Parking may be limited, so you will want to arrive before 9:00. The road up to the trailhead itself is gravel but very well graded and maintained. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed.
