SPS (Second) Friday Meeting: Landscapes

The first meeting of SPS for 2015 will be the second (not the first) Friday of the month—January 9th—at our new location, Clairmont Presbyterian Church.

Our competition theme is Landscapes. The photographs for this theme should reflect natural outdoor settings showing an expansive point of view. Grand vistas with few (if any) man-made objects are what we’re looking for.

Our speaker and judge is Robin Davis. Robin will discuss several bodies of her work, including Atlanta Gotham and Images from Tuscany…and how an idea becomes a finished show.

Robin instructs her workshop students to empower their own photography with in-camera decisions that are the foundation of thoughtful image making.She gives private lessons, and small group workshops in her Atlanta studio, as well as leading photo trips to Italy, Coastal Georgia, and other picturesque destinations.

SPS Monthly Meetings (first Friday of each month) are for its members and guests. While competition entries at these monthly meetings are restricted to currently paid-up members, we ALWAYS welcome visitors interested in photography to attend. The Learnshops (fourth Tuesday of each month) are intended for members, but again, we welcome visitors. Note: Due to the popularity of the Learnshops and room capacity limitations, paid members will be given priority admission. If you attend regularly, we ask that you help support the club (which pays for the rental of the facilities, supplies, and equipment) by becoming a member!
