ONLINE: Mastering Birds-In-Flight: A Simpler Approach - with Annalise Kaylor

Details

NOTE: Due to the July 4th holiday weekend, we will not have a "First Friday" meeting and competition in July.

We will have a special online Learnshop by wildlife photographer Annalise Kaylor, now based in Alaska.

In this webinar, photographer Annalise Kaylor breaks bird-in-flight photography down into a clear, simplified approach.

You’ll learn how to:
· Master backgrounds so your birds stand out and your photos pop
· Choose the right autofocus area mode for reliable results
· Focus on just one key setting in the field—eliminating guesswork and hesitation

Annalise Kaylor is a wildlife and documentary photographer whose work spans 40 countries, capturing the intersection of conservation, culture, and coexistence. Her images have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Audubon Magazine, and PBS, as well as in exhibitions across North and South America, with permanent collections at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library, the World Health Organization, and in the United Nations. She collaborates with NGOs like The Nature Conservancy and Habitat for Humanity to tell critical conservation stories through visual storytelling. As the co-creator and co-host of the PhotoWILD podcast, she, along with her partner Jared Lloyd, explore the art and science of wildlife photography.

Please note:
This month's Learnshop will be online, and the ZOOM link will be emailed the day before the event to all who RSVP.

SPS has three standing meetings each month for its members and guests. The First Friday Program and Competition features an outside speaker and a members' image competition. While competition entries at these monthly meetings are restricted to currently paid-up members, we ALWAYS welcome visitors interested in photography to attend. The Learnshops (fourth Tuesdays) and Coffee & Critique (second Saturdays) are intended for members, but again, we welcome visitors. If you attend regularly, we ask that you help support the club (which pays for the rental of the facilities, supplies, and equipment) by becoming a member!

Signing up on the SPS Meetup page does not make you an SPS member. SPS members pay dues to engage in many activities that are unavailable to guests who only sign up on the SPS MeetUp.
