What: Its been awhile that we have done a night shoot, so this month we'll head off to Lake Lanier Island for the evening to capture this falls Balloon Festival. It's amazing to capture balloonists inflating their balloons and you may even get a chance, if you are wearing tennis shoes, to go inside a balloon to capture the inflation process.

When: Our field trip is currently scheduled for September 19th. Unless it's extremely windy, this will be a fun night to capture the balloon glow from the ground and even maybe from above.

Where: This year, the Balloon Festival will be at Lanier Islands and it will cost $22.75 Saturday night. This years event will be located at
7000 Lanier Islands Parkway, Buford, GA 30518.

What to bring: You'll need both your camera strap ( for early shooting flexibility ) and a tripod, and cable release as the night gets darker. A wide 16-15mm and a medium 24-70mm lenses should be all you will need. We'll start at 6:00 at the ticket gate. Bring a flashlight or your mobile phone for walking around in the dark. Also, bring water unless you want to purchase a beverage while you are there.

Southeastern Photographic Society (SPS) has three standing meetings each month for its members and guests.
The First Friday Program and Competition features an outside speaker and a members' image competition. While competition entries at these monthly meetings are restricted to currently paid-up members, we ALWAYS welcome visitors interested in photography to attend.
The Learnshops (fourth Tuesdays) and Coffee & Critique (second Saturdays) are intended for members, but again, we welcome visitors.
If you attend regularly, we ask that you help support the club (which pays for the rental of the facilities, supplies, and equipment) by becoming a member!
