Please join us for our First Friday meeting on October 2. Our guest speaker, "Professor Kenneth Hines, the Ambassador of Light" — is an Atlanta/New York-based photographer, ZEISS Ambassador, and Adobe Lightroom educator whose work spans street, cityscape, and landscape photography, video production, and creative education. Professor Hines will highlight the power of invisibility in photography, emphasizing its role in allowing photographers to move unnoticed through public spaces and capture authentic, compelling street imagery.

Please consider entering our Print Competition - The theme this month is "Get In Close" - Closeup detail of subject using close focus or magnifying focal length. (See below for more information.)

Kenneth “Professor” Hines, Jr. is the definition of a multi-hyphenate creative—photographer, educator, industry ambassador (ZEISS Photo & Vision), and all-around visual powerhouse. Based between Atlanta and New York City, he’s partnered with some of the biggest names in the business, including ZEISS, Sony, Google and Adobe, where he’s an instructor and a speaker at the prestigious Adobe MAX conference. His work has been featured everywhere from Brides and Life & Style Weekly to Professional Photographer Magazine and The Weather Channel, proving his talent knows no creative bounds. Kenneth also serves as the JIB Camera Operator for the dynamic Change Church, led by Pastor Dharius Daniels in Atlanta.

SPS has three standing meetings each month for its members and guests. The First Friday meeting features a guest speaker and a members’ image competition. While competition entries at these monthly meetings are restricted to current dues-paying members, we ALWAYS welcome visitors interested in photography to attend. The Learnshops (Fourth Tuesdays) and Coffee & Critique (Second Saturdays) are intended for members, but again, we welcome visitors. If you attend regularly, we ask that you help support the club (which pays for the rental of the facilities, supplies and equipment) by becoming a member!
Signing up on the SPS Meetup page does not make you an SPS member. SPS members pay dues to engage in many activities that are unavailable to guests who only sign up on the SPS MeetUp.
