Downtown Atlanta sunset from Stone Mountain
Details
http://photos3.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/9/e/e/0/event_92080672.jpegTwice a year, the sunset transitions through downtown Atlanta, February and October. Dependent upon cloud cover and air particulates (smog), the view can be outstanding.
Come join us for a hike up the mountain and capture some great cityscape sunset silhouettes on Sunday, February 19th. Sunset is at 6:23PM. Meet 1 1/2 hours before sunset (5:00PM) at the base of Stone Mountain (That's the western end of the mountain near the West Gate Entrance (There is a $10.00 parking fee)), climb the mountain, shoot tons of pictures, walk down the mountain in the dark. It takes about 30 to 45 minutes to climb to the top. As an alternative you can take the Summit Skyride to the top for $5.50 one way. You should still park near the west gate. The Stone Mountain website shows the Skyride operating until 5:00pm. Check first as the Skyride may not be running at all. You still have to walk down.
