Be Still My Blinking Heart (E-textiles class with Erica Pivko)

Details

In this workshop you will create a Valentine's Day themed wall mounted art piece that contains a basic LED circuit controlled by a pressure sensitive switch. The harder you push the button, the brighter your Giant Puffy Heart will light up!

You'll learn how to:

Work with Conductive thread and two different kinds of conductive fabric

Create a fabric button and pressure sensor switch using pressure sensitive conductive fabric

Modify standard through-hole electronic components for use in an e-textile project

Safely incorporate a 9V battery in to your e-textile project

Determine the correct resistors to use in your LED based e-textile projects

Basic stitching skills are necessary, and prior experience with scissors, pliers and glue is a plus! Don't worry if you have NO electronics experience! This is a really simple, low-voltage project that does not involve soldering. Beginners are encouraged to attend!

The cost for this workshop includes materials.
