Summer "Meet & Greet" for Adults with ADHD
Details
There will be a "Meet & Greet" for adults with ADHD on Thursday, July 11th at 7 PM in the Old Town Saloon. This will be an informal meeting over drinks and games of pool. There is no agenda - we may play a group game, but there is no speaker or topic - it is just to get a chance to unwind and meet each other. This event is free and open to all adults with ADHD in San Diego and our allies.
This group was started late last year with the goal of building an "interconnected network" of adults with ADHD in the San Diego region. We thought it was important to start by meeting in person and have had nine meetings in total- on the second Thursday of each month. Recently, we have started to have online meetings- on the fourth Thursday of each month, for those who have attended one of our in-person meetings.
We started at the Old Town Saloon but have since had meetings at Lestats in Hillcrest for roundtable discussions, Aquarius Bar and Grill on Mission Bay for some reggae music, Nova Kombucha in Ocean Beach for a group discussion and games - and we even met in the parking lot of the Hub Marketplace in Hillcrest - a tiny "flashmob" of sorts. So we have gone a long way, but still have a long way to go, and we want you to join us on this journey.
This month, we will be returning to The Old Town Saloon - the place where we started. It is an "ADHD-friendly" venue - lots of room to roam and different places to sit - and since there is no agenda it doesn't matter if you don't get there on time. There can be background noise so it is not great for group discussions but is fine for meeting people.
This should be fun, so we hope you will consider joining us.
