Landscape Drawing in Wheathampstead

Join me for a walk through the countryside surrounding the village of Wheathampstead while looking for good spots to draw along our walk.

We will meet at Loafing Café at 11 a.m. and set off by 11:20 a.m. Please bring suitable walking shoes/boots and sensible clothing. Also, remember to bring a bottle of water. It's also nice to pack lunch for yourself or, alternatively, buy something to eat from Loafing.

You'll need to bring your sketchbook, art materials, and, if helpful, a little folding stool or blanket to sit on while drawing in the countryside.

We will walk between 2 and 5 miles, so please only attend if you know you can walk this distance. We will start and end our walk at Loafing Café, and there is free parking behind the Bull Inn Car Park in the East Lane Car Park.

Once we find a good spot to draw that everyone agrees on, we'll stop briefly to sketch. This is a very unpredictable experience, as sometimes people really love one location and wish to stay to work on a longer drawing, which means we don't walk much. Other times we often stop a few times in different places for very short sketches. So please expect a varying level of short and perhaps longer drawing possibilities.

Please note that there will often be steep hills to climb with lots of tree roots and long stretches without access to roads or cafes, so please only attend if you can physically handle unpredictable landscapes.

Rest assured, I'll be keeping a close eye on the weather. If it looks like a wet day, I'll quickly reschedule. If needed, I'll update everyone via message a few days before our event and on the day of the event, so be sure to check your inbox here on Meetup closer to the date.
