JANUARY - THE 'DOORWAY' TO THE NEW YEAR
Around 713 BC the months of January & February were added to the Roman calendar. January was named after the Roman God Janus who presided over all beginnings and endings, acting as the divine gatekeeper of both physical and metaphorical thresholds. He is often portrayed holding a key in his left hand, symbolizing his control over doors and gates, and a staff in his right, representing his role as a guide for travelers, with two faces—one looking back at the past and the other looking forward to the future. This month, let's look back at our past year and the highs & lows that it brought and also look forward to the new year considering how we'd like to shape it and use it to our best advantage.
