St Albans Life Drawing

Sunday May 24th 20265. Life drawing St Albans @ Trestle arts base is back after a long break! Our model for the Afternoon will be Lauren who will be returning to visit with us. Please do book early to avoid disappointment. There is a slight change to the running time with a slightly shorter session, starting at 15:00 and fisnish at 17:45.

Trestle is one of the best venues you'll find for life drawing. Lots of space and good views. The session will be in the theatre space at Trestle theatre, on your left as you walk in the main entrance. There are basic supplies available but its best to use your own equipment and make the most of the time with supplies you are comfortable with. An A2 drawing board with paper is supplied with smooth newsprint along with Charcoal and pencils. Newsprint is great with Charcoal so if you're a graphite pencil artist its best to bring a pad of good graphite sketching paper. ***From now on Cartridge will be available to purchase seperately, so bring some change if you want to buy some @ 50p a sheet. 2 sheet supplied on the day. ***

The session will comprise of roughly 2 hours 30 minutes of drawing, with multiple poses of varied timings (2, 5, 10, 15, 20 & max 30 mins). There will be a break for the model halfway through the session

All experience levels are welcome, However this is a standard drop in life drawing session. I am on hand to help and give advice but it isn't a structured class. For absolute beginners I would advice seeking a structured course to start with before using these sessions to build on your studies.

Personally I really like Stand Prokopenko's Human figure drawing fundamentals. This will set you back £110 but I think its really worth the money you would spend at a night class and you get to keep the lessons to refer back to. 'Love life drawing' have plenty of free and paid learning options and is a great resource for starting your life drawing journey. However there are plenty of free resources available on You Tube, so don't go spending money until you know your commited to putting in the time.

Plenty of free parking in the Trestle car park, accessed via Soverign park via Princess Diana drive.

This booking is for easels, please note that you may have to stand throughout the session as you will be working over the top of seated artists.
