Another city ride starting from Holbeach Ave carpark in Tempe, passing through Alexandria with a slight detour to Zetland at Greensquare... just to appreciate the newish bike paths and the numerous beef noodles establishments we'll cycle past (count them if you can). We then get back to Bourke St and cycle all the way down to Wooloomooloo to appreciate the numerous Art Park sculptures by the Wharf.
After ooh and aah-ing at the massive navy ships docked at HMS Kuttabul Cowper Wharf (if we're lucky to spot any), we begin our ascend to Potts Point - where we regale in various eclectic Art Deco-styled buildings we'll cycle past. We finally stop at the El-Alamein Fountain Square for a much deserved morning coffee and pastry, while soaking the quasi-Parisian vibes.
We then make our way to Moore Park via Kings Cross, Darlinghurst (read: hills hills hills!) and from there, the more familiar and relaxed ride back to Tempe via another detour through Erko and Marrickville - just for the love of a few more extra kms.
While this is a social ride, be prepared for several solid (but short) hilly climbs and some on-road riding. Confidence to "hold your space" while being patient and alert is paramount: safety in numbers, a bonus. This is not a fast ride - this is for the city-curious folks 😊.
