Ride Name: Pipeline
Ride Leader: Terry Hatton
Date/Time: Friday 17th October
Meeting Place: Waterfall Station for a 9:00 am departure.

Ride Description: This is an off-the-bitumen ride following a service trail, aka fire trail, from Sarah’s Knob near Woronora Dam through to Woronora.

There is an on-road section to the start and to the finish at Sutherland. The ride is through some very pleasant bush settings, alongside creek or river at times. We will probably stop at The Needles on Georges River; bring a snack.

Coffee at Woronora or at Sutherland.

Rating: The Pipeline Trail section is about 17 km, and overall the ride is 30 km from Waterfall Station to the finish at Sutherland Station.

Average speed: 15 km/hr. Technically straightforward on reasonable quality wide fire trail but a little rough and loose in spots. A mountain bike is required, or a fat-tired gravel type bike.

Note however there are several steep hills (mainly short) so an e-bike is recommended unless you are a strong rider.

A helmet, water bottle, spare tube and relevant tools, pump etc are required and a bike in good condition as there are no real bail out points along the way.

Cancellation Policy:
The ride will be cancelled if there is rain; you will be notified via SMS by 6.30am on the day of the ride. Also check Meet-up for any updates.

If you would like to join this ride, please txt Terry on 0429702458 to confirm your spot.
