Weekend trip to New Harmony, IN

Details

New Harmony was established as a Utopian community by both the Owenites and the Harmonites.
New Harmony is little over 2 hours from St Louis.

HOTEL info: I have booked a block of 10 rooms at the New Harmony Inn Resort and Conference Center. Rooms are $115 per night (I think it was about $128 with all taxes). You can cancel with full refund if you cancel at least 48 hours in advance. You can also search for other places in the area.

Go here to reserve your room: https://newharmonyinn.com/ Then, click Book a Room, put in the Check In date and Check Out date, Select the link Do You Have a Group Code?, Enter STHSMU2025, Click Search Availability, select a room that has Group Rate ($115). Pay. You can also call the hotel at: 812.682.4431.

Another option: The AC Thomas house B&B. I called them to see if we could rent the entire house (we couldn't - some rooms already booked). It is a little more expensive than New Harmony Inn, but not much more (and you get free breakfasts). There are still 3 rooms available at the AC Thomas house the nights we will be there as well as the basement gallery (Queen + 2 singles). None of the other 3 rooms available have a King bed, one room (Diana) has a double bed, one room (William) has a Queen, and I'm not sure if the Catherine room is a double or Queen.

New Harmony, IN:
"Established by the Harmony Society in 1814 under the leadership of George Rapp... In its early years the 20,000-acre (8,100 ha) settlement was the home of Lutherans who had separated from their church ... and immigrated to the United States. The Harmonists built a town in the wilderness, but in 1824 they decided to sell their property.... Robert Owen, a Welsh industrialist and social reformer, purchased the town in 1825 in order to create a utopian community....
"New Harmony changed American education and scientific research. Town residents established the first public library, a civic drama club, and a public school system open to men and women.
"Many of the town's old Harmonist buildings have been restored. These structures, along with others related to the Owenite community, are included in the New Harmony Historic District. " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Harmony,_Indiana
