Just a reminder about free meetup

This is not an event! Just a couple notes because I know not everyone gets emails through meetup.

1. If you are new to meetup, my understanding is that you are still able to join meetup WITHOUT paying the monthly fee. My understanding is that if you sign up without searching for the "free" subscription, you may end up paying each month. I would suggest getting a new account and making sure you have the "free" meetup subscription.

2. But, there are dues to this meetup group (and maybe some others you are in). BUT, the dues are only $6 a year. You can pay in-person at an event or you can pay online. If you pay online the amount shows up on your credit card to 'Stripe'. One word of warning about paying online - once meetup has your credit card for one group, they will use it to pay dues for any other meetup group you are in that collects dues. As organizer, I do NOT have access to your credit card - but I can reverse charges for the history meetup group only.

3. Finally - and I hope a lot of you are still reading - especially my long-time members - someone contacted me in 2025 about visiting one of the downtown Methodist churches (not Centenary - a different one). I can't find the message anywhere - so if it was you please send me another message!
