St. Louis Craft Beer Society

In order to have fun while staying inside during the colder weather, we will host a Retro Gaming, Jackbox, and Bottle Share Party at our house! We will play all our favorite games and share some of our favorite and unique beers and other drinks. YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE BOTTLE SHARE OR BE FORCED TO DRINK ANYTHING YOU DON'T WANT TO IN ORDER TO JOIN AND PLAY GAMES, NOR ARE YOU REQUIRED TO PLAY GAMES IF YOU JUST WANT TO DRINK! See later for a description of how a bottle share works if you are unfamiliar.

We have both an N64 and Gamecube with 4 first party controllers each. Feel free to bring any multiplayer games for either of those systems along with the necessary memory cards with your save files. In addition, if you have a Switch, bring it along and we can set it up!

Also, we have all the Jackbox Party Packs on Steam, so bring along your phone charger to carelessly join in on rounds of Fibbage and Drawful without draining your battery!

We will also have beer pong setup for those not in a video game.

We plan on playing games from 6:00 PM until people go home, which can be after midnight. Can't make it early in the evening? Show up late! Can't stay late? Play a quick game and move on with your night!

If you want to participate in the bottle share part of this party, bring along 1-2 cans or bottles of your favorite or unique beers, ciders, seltzers, mead, etc. We will share them by passing out small pours of what people have brought into your tasting glasses. I have plenty of of tasting glasses from years of beerfests, plus extra plastic cups, so simply bring your drinks and be ready to try various beers and other drinks! I have plenty of leftovers from the last party that I hope we can share together!

This will be a BYOB event. We will supply tortilla chips, salsa, and popcorn for snacks.

Our multiplayer game library includes the following, please bring anything you want to play that is missing (such as Super Smash Bros. or Mario Cart):

N64: Goldeneye, The World is Not Enough, Waialae Country Club, Excitebike 64, Rush 2, Quarterback Club 99, Diddy Kong Racing, and Tony Hawk 2.

Gamecube: Timesplitters 2 and Future Perfect, Madden 2003, Burnout 2, Rainbow Six 3, Tiger Woods 2004, Super Smash Brothers Melee, and Simpsons Hit and Run (there is a racing minigame similar to the arcade game Off Road).

We will message out my address the day of the event to those who RSVP; we usually get all the messages out between 10 am and 2 PM. The general area of the house is on Vista Ave in the Grove, near the corner of Vista Ave and S. Boyle Ave; we are just a couple houses west of the patio entrance to the bar The Get Down.

Come join for a relaxing mid-afternoon at at Blue Jay Brewing Co. to enjoy some delicious beer! They have a small, indoor taproom with some tables, and a nice, enclosed, outdoor patio with more tables. They also have a small food menu with sandwiches, sides, and snacks. I will also bring some board games to play if we need to fill the time between conversation!

Let's go check out Trivia Night at 2nd Shift Brewing! It should start at 7 PM, so I have posted this event for 6:40 so we can claim some tables and get settled before the start time.

This trivia is run by Li-Mae, who used to do the trivia for Earthbound Beer before they closed, which we used to attend and enjoy. She follows her old format, so there will be 6 rounds of 8 questions each; I would rank this a medium difficulty trivia. The winning team of each round wins a 4-pack of beer and then the overall winner wins a gift card.

In addition to beer, 2nd Shift also offer N/A options of Root Beer, Lemon-Lime Soda, and Hop Water to drink. Food should be available for purchase from their food window by Mess Hall.

I have limited the RSVP's to 12 people since there is a max limit of 6 people per team and I can handle holding up to 2 tables for our group.

Alpha Brewery is having another Meat Bingo night! Come, drink, play bingo, and win meat! It's just that simple!

I will arrive at about 6:45 to claim our area and the bingo games should start at about 7:00. We should have the large table along the front wall reserved for our group.

Bingo sheets will cost $1 each and have 2 bingo cards on each. You can play as many sheets as you want each game, but each entire sheet (both cards) must be used for a single game; you cannot rip the cards in half for separate games. There will also be door prize raffles before each round!

Since Alpha runs the bingo "in-house", you can pay with card and/or add the card purchases to your tab; they still accept cash if you prefer cash.

The brewery also has a delicious food menu that can be found on their website!

There is an RSVP limit for this event due to available seating, so please be respectful of your fellow group members and show up if you RSVP, or update your RSVP as early as you can when you know you cannot attend.
