Love craft beer? So do we. With all the craft breweries in the St. Louis area, the plan is to get together and check out the scene. The breweries, the bars, the events - all that good stuff. We want to drink good beer, have fun and occasionally learn something. Official Code of Conduct - Must like accomplishing nothing - Sense of humor is not optional - In depth knowledge of craft beer is welcome but far from expected - Appreciation of everything beer a must - Pants are not optional

Trivia Monday @ Rockwell Beer Company
Rockwell Beer Company, 1320 S Vandeventer Ave, St. Louis, MO, USNote: This group is currently transitioning to Heylo. While event updates and comments will still be posted in this event, it is encouraged for you to join the group and RSVP to this and future events at: https://heylo.group/stlcraftbeersociety
Come join for a Monday evening of Trivia at Rockwell Beer Company! Their trivia starts at 7 PM, so I have set our Meetup event time for 6:40 to give time to grab a table or two and settle in before trivia starts. The trivia consists of 6 rounds and moves at a good pace. Each round has a different theme and was an overall medium difficulty. We did well in the past, so we are returning.
In addition to beer, they also offer wine, cider, cocktails, and N/A options to drink, and in addition to drinks, there will also be food available from their kitchen. Their menu offers a small variety of items, mostly consisting of burgers and fries.
See you at the brewery!

Trivia at 2nd Shift Brewing
2nd Shift Brewing, 1601 Sublette Ave., St. Louis, MO, USNote: This group is currently transitioning to Heylo. While event updates and comments will still be posted in this event, it is encouraged for you to join the group and RSVP to this and future events at: https://heylo.group/stlcraftbeersociety
Let's go check out Trivia Night at 2nd Shift Brewing! It should start at 7 PM, so I have posted this event for 6:40 so we can claim some tables and get settled before the start time.
This trivia is run by Li-Mae, who used to do the trivia for Earthbound Beer before they closed, which we used to attend and enjoy. She follows her old format, so there will be 6 rounds of 8 questions each; I would rank this a medium difficulty trivia. The winning team of each round wins a 4-pack of beer and then the overall winner wins a gift card.
In addition to beer, 2nd Shift also offer N/A options of Root Beer, Lemon-Lime Soda, and Hop Water to drink. Food should be available for purchase from their food window by Mess Hall.
I have limited the RSVP's to 12 people since there is a max limit of 6 people per team and I can handle holding up to 2 tables for our group.
See you all there!https://www.2ndshiftbrewing.com/

Meat Bingo @ Alpha Brewing Co.
Alpha brewing co, 4310 Fyler Ave., St Louis, MO, USNote: This group is currently transitioning to Heylo. While event updates and comments will still be posted in this event, it is encouraged for you to join the group and RSVP to this and future events at: https://heylo.group/stlcraftbeersociety
Alpha Brewery is having another Meat Bingo night! Come, drink, play bingo, and win meat! It's just that simple!
I will arrive at about 6:45 to claim our area and the bingo games should start at about 7:00. We should have the large table along the front wall reserved for our group.
Bingo sheets will cost $1 each and have 2 bingo cards on each. You can play as many sheets as you want each game, but each entire sheet (both cards) must be used for a single game; you cannot rip the cards in half for separate games. There will also be door prize raffles before each round!
Since Alpha runs the bingo "in-house", you can pay with card and/or add the card purchases to your tab; they still accept cash if you prefer cash.
The brewery also has a delicious food menu that can be found on their website!
There is an RSVP limit for this event due to available seating, so please be respectful of your fellow group members and show up if you RSVP, or update your RSVP as early as you can when you know you cannot attend.
Hopefully you can join for a fun night of beer and bingo!

Craft Beer Bike Ride & Dressel's Rock & Horse Brewing Tour
Location not specified yetThe June 6 bike ride will start at the Up Down Arcade Bar in the CWE at 11am. We will end up next door at Dressel's Pub around 3pm and will get a tour from Ben Dressell of Rock & Horse Brewing (located in the basement) at 4pm. We expect we will have a group that will ride, a group that will meet us at Dressels and many that will do both.
Note: The main site for this group is now HeyLo and the event is posted there as well. Join HeyLo and RSVP to the event on that site to continue getting notices and updates for events.
This year we will start and end in Francis Park at the Rockwell Beer Garden for this May 4th Ride.
This ride is 12 miles with 2 to 4 miles between stops. This will cover a mixture of new destinations, favorite spots, and points of interest - hopefully you will discover a new place, path and/or meet new friends.Initial Map (downloadable GPS link coming soon after I tweak the final route)
This is a social, no drop ride. We will stop to regroup if we get separated (at the top of a hill, through a traffic light, etc.). For those not biking, you are welcome to join us at our stops along the way!
The itinerary for the Saturday, June 6th ride is below:- 11am-11:45am - Up Down Arcade Bar - I'd recommend parking on Washington Avenue east of Euclid. There are usually plenty of non-metered spaces available. We will depart promptly at 11:45am and ride ~2.5 miles down Euclid and through Forest Park to our next stop. (very good) Pizza by the Slice is available here.
- 12pm-12:45pm - Modern Brewery - Civil Life Brewery - One of our favorite stops with a great patio, beer & food. If you didn't get something to eat at Up Down and want to eat before we end the ride at Dressel's, this is the official lunch stop. From here, we will then ride ~4 miles through Lafayette Square to our next stop
- 1:15pm-2pm - Square 1 Brewery & Distillery - We haven't stopped here on a ride in a bit and you'll have time to sample their beer and/or distilled spirits. From here we will take the ride ~2 miles along the cycle track to the soccer stadium.
- 2:15pm-3pm - Schlafly Brewery Tap Room - I think this is the first time our bike ride has stopped here (although we have been to Schlafly Bottleworks). From here we will ride ~4 miles taking the new Brickline Greenway segment that just opened to SLU and ride through SLU back to the Central West end.
- 3:30pm-? Dressel's Pub and Rock & Horse Brewing - This is where we will end the ride. There will be a tour of the brewery at 4pm. After the tour, feel free to hang out or return to Up Down which is next door.
We will post messages here during our stops if we are running ahead or behind schedule in case you want to meet up with us along the way.
Remember - bring a water bottle and we always recommend a lock even though we try to stay close to or in sight of our bikes when possible.
Important Notice: The safest way to ride is to not consume alcohol before or during any bide ride. If you choose to sample alcoholic beverages at any time during the ride, we recommend you take advantage of ½ pours or samples sizes. We also encourage you to share any samples you order with others in the group. This ride is intended for us to check out some of the venues in the area and meet new friends. This is not a pub crawl, no one should ride a bike or drive a vehicle after more than a drink or two.
