Looking to get our Meetups going again with this exciting screening of Emilia Perez, dir. Jacques Audiard. The film is getting a lot of Oscar buzz and is only playing in a handful of theaters, Green Light pulled some favors to get this shown!

The film premiered 2024 Cannes Film Festival and was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or in its main competition section, where it won the Jury Prize and its female ensemble won the Best Actress award. Also selected as the French entry for Best International Feature Film at the 97th Academy Awards.

Synopsis: A Mexican lawyer is offered an unusual job to help a notorious cartel boss retire and transition into living as a woman, fulfilling a long-held desire.
