Coffee Walk + Poetry Jam at the St. Pete Pier

We’ll meet at Paradeco Coffee to grab a coffee to go, then walk together down the St. Pete Pier to the steps in front of the Discovery Center.

(Putting start time as 4:45pm because Paradeco closes at 5pm. Our walk will begin promptly at 5pm.)

Once we to arrive, we’ll sit on the steps and each write a short poem based on a prompt. This experience is open to seasoned poets and people who are simply curious about poetry. No experience required, just a willingness to play with words.

After we’ve had time to write, anyone who wants to will have the opportunity to read their poem aloud in front of the group. Sharing is completely optional, but it’s often the most fun part and a great way to connect as a group.

When we’re finished, we’ll walk to the end of the pier and back. This experience will involve around 30 minutes of walking and 30 minutes of sitting,

What to bring: A pen and notebook (unless you prefer to use your phone to write in the Notes app)

Coffee is optional. You’re welcome to grab something from Paradeco, bring your own, or skip it entirely.

This is a relaxed, supportive space to write, listen, and connect in a beautiful setting. All are welcome.
