If you are like me you have discovered that like other endeavors software development is an artform. And, even though the possession of a paint brush does not make me a Picasso, Picasso would have been limited without his brush.

Bot Framework Composer is an open-source visual authoring canvas for developers and multidisciplinary teams to build bots. Composer integrates language understanding services such as LUIS and QnA Maker and allows sophisticated composition of bot replies using Language Generation. Composer is available as a desktop application as well as a web-based component.

Built with the latest features of the Bot Framework SDK, Composer provides everything you need to build a sophisticated conversational experience:

A visual editing canvas for conversation flows

Tools to author and manage language understanding (NLU) and QnA components

Powerful language generation and templating system

A ready-to-use bot runtime executable

Join us as we take a tour of the UI and wire up a simple bot the we can deploy.

Michael Stark is a Senior Consultant in Azure Data and AI at Microsoft. Michael is a local developer who benefited greatly from local community developer groups. He understands the richness in exchanging knowledge and experiences with fellow techies. Besides software, Michael enjoys photography, cycling, traveling, and dining.
