Topic 1: Diary of a DevSecOps Kid (Tool)
Join GovTech DevOps Engineer Fabian Lim as he shares the tools that enable DevSecOps practices in the organisation.

The DevSecOps movement is mainly a cultural shift in mindset but is often enabled by so-called “DevSecOps tools”. While tooling is important, the focus must still be on the people and processes that set the foundation of the transformation. Fabian will share how some tools enable the DevSecOps transformation by shifting (left) mindsets to integrate security early into the software development lifecycle.

Topic 2: Building Kubernetes On-prem
Our second speaker, Vinh Vo from DevOps Vietnam, will discuss the benefits and pitfalls of deploying Kubernetes on-prem.

It cannot be denied that Kubernestes is taking a very important role in helping software development teams release more frequent products, shorten time needed to get products to the market, and get user feedback. While more and more organisations are moving to Cloud-based platforms, there are many others still sticking to their own data centres because of some constraints.

Learn about common Kubernetes challenges and discover how to build a platform that manages containerised workloads and services easily.

About the Speakers

Fabian Lim
Fabian is a DevSecOps Servant. He currently serves at GovTech Singapore. He started his career at Intuit Inc in San Diego, USA, pioneering the DevSecOps movement under the guidance of Shannon Lietz – emphasising security as part of the DevOps movement.

Fabian’s passion for building and breaking automated CICD pipelines led him to what he continues to do today. Through “security as code” and automated security tools, he finds flaws in the pipelines only to make it better. He loves hacking into CICD pipelines (and other technologies) to identify real-world threats which are “low-hanging fruits” for attackers and continuously improving them.

Fabian also spends his time educating other software engineers about security through workshops, blogs, conference talks, etc.
