Details

Our next event is shaping up nicely, with back-to-back talks from two impressive speakers:

First up, Christian Reuter (https://github.com/creuter) will discuss bourbon.io (http://bourbon.io/), a simple and lightweight mixin library for Sass by @ThoughtBot (https://twitter.com/thoughtbot). Next, learn the strengths and weaknesses of Meteor.js (https://www.meteor.com/) from Josh Owens (http://joshowens.me/), who has been using it full time since April 2013. This talk will go over things like the core principles, packaging system, hosting, the great community, testing, and much more. Get the inside scoop on why you should give Meteor.js a look.

About Josh @joshowens (https://twitter.com/joshowens): In 1987 Josh’s love story with technology began with his Atari 800XL and his dual 5.25 inch floppy drives. He has come a long way since those days filled with acne cream and 8-bit video games. Josh has been cultivating his Rails skills since 2004, and was a Rails Core Contributor. He led his development team to win the 2007 Rails Rumble competition for the development of TastyPlanner. He now spends his days working full time in the Meteor.js framework and trying to build an open sourced empire for it. Josh is a also a podcaster and producer of past shows like Web 2.0 Show, WebPulp.tv and presently producing the Meteor.js Podcast (http://meteorpodcast.com/) and running the Meteor News website, Crater (http://crater.io/).

About Christian @jchreu (https://twitter.com/jchreu): Christian Reuter is a product designer at ThoughtBot. Christian enjoys designing and building good products for good people, and believes that design can be used as a tool to take better care of users. When not designing, Christian enjoys backpacking in the Blue Ridge, playing board games, and geeking out about coffee.

Event Schedule: As usual, we'll kick it off with some snacks and beverages at 5:30pm and then start the talk promptly at 6pm. Each talk will run approximately 30 to 45 minutes. There will be some time after the talk (around 7:30pm) to hang out and talk with Josh and Christian.

Fancy that! Get the latest updates on Twitter: @stackedconf (https://twitter.com/stackedconf).

Hope to see you there!

P.S. BIG announcement coming at this event, you won't want to miss it!
