What we’re about
This is a meetup group for software engineers, DevOps professionals, and open source contributors working on the next generation of secure, AI-powered developer tools.
We host practical sessions, live demos, and hands-on walkthroughs that explore how our projects support open, sustainable, and modular development with AI. We want to build a community with other developers who are shaping how AI affects software development.
Stacklok's developer AI open source projects include:
ToolHive: ToolHive is a lightweight utility designed to simplify the discovery, deployment and management of MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, ensuring ease of use, consistency, and security. https://github.com/stacklok/toolhive
CodeGate: CodeGate is an agent designed to make AI applications, coding assistants and agentic frameworks, safer and easier to consume and manage. It provides a centralized, abstracted environment for managing prompts, model provider configurations, model muxing, and more. https://github.com/stacklok/codegate

Why Deploy MCP with ToolHive's K8s Operator?
Model Context Protocol (MCP) makes AI agents intelligent and useful by providing them a standardized way to access context and take multi-step actions across your tools, data, and services.
We built ToolHive so we could take advantage of the benefits of MCP without the significant frictions and security concerns that we ran into when we tried to get started.
What Will I Learn?
In this interactive workshop, you'll learn how to automate the deployment of MCP servers in Kubernetes using ToolHive's K8s Operator. Using the K8s Operator makes it easy to automate MCP deployments using your existing K8s operational practices and, eventually, to centralize them for multi-user use.
In this meetup, we'll walk through:
- How to deploy an MCP server using ToolHive's K8s Operator
- The architectural decisions that make it secure and scalable
- Where ToolHive is headed and how to get involved.
We'll also save plenty of time for questions and feedback!
Who Should Attend?
- Engineers exploring MCPs or building with AI agents
- DevSecOps and platform teams modernizing secure developer environments
- OSS contributors interested in early-stage AI infra
Whether you're just learning about MCP or already experimenting with your own MCP servers, this session will give you a fast, grounded way to continue exploring securely.
