September Meetup - When familiar problems need unfamiliar solutions

Join us for our Staffs Web Meetup event. We a have truly interesting talk lined up by Goron Rugg entitled "When familiar problems need unfamiliar solutions".

We’re also excited to share that we're moving to the new Codeweavers office based near the Riverside shopping centre in Stafford town centre.

The office is situated between the new Superbowl and Odeon cinema.

We’re just kicking things off again, as such we don’t currently have any sponsorship. If you’d like to support the meetup, please email staffswebmeetup@gmail.com.

All our events are free to attend, there will be some light bites provided. If we obtain our new venue hot and cold drinks will also be provided, otherwise they can be purchased from the coffee bar.

Some familiar problems have familiar solutions. Some don’t.

This talk is about why some familiar problems don’t have familiar solutions, and about why finding good solutions can take you into unfamiliar places. It starts with the problem of clients who don’t know what they want. It then examines the reasons for this problem, and looks at how some other fields have tackled it. The outcome is a simple, practical way for web designers to handle the problem in a way that is most likely to give a good outcome for everyone involved. The talk ends with a demonstration of how you can apply it to your work.
