“Oscar Wilde’s most famous play is a farcical comedy that satirizes the strict, hypocritical social customs of Victorian England. The plot revolves around two wealthy young bachelors living double lives. When Algernon discovers that his friend Ernest has created a fictional brother, Algernon poses as the brother, resulting in ever-increasing confusion, which unleashes repressed desires from all the characters.”
