Visit the Japan Society of Greater Hartford Summer Festival in West Hartford

The Japan Society of Greater Hartford (https://jsofgh.org/) has scheduled their annual Japan Summer Festival for Sunday, June 4, 2023, 12-5 PM in West Hartford (at Blue Back Square in West Hartford Center).

The free festival will feature:

• Koto (traditional string instrument) performance
• Shakuhachi (traditional bamboo flute) performance
• Taiko drumming
• Swordsmanship demonstration
• Calligraphy and Origami
• Folk dancing
• Activities for kids

While our meetup group is not planning to hold a formal meeting at the festival, if you expect to be there feel free to post a message here - perhaps we can organize an informal get-together for any group members who may show up, possibly including a visit to the nearby Maruichi Japanese market and deli.
