What we’re about
Hi I'm Damien, I'm a big fan of standup comedy (and comedy in general).
Seeing the squillions of people in melbourne pack into venues at the comedy festival made me think-
Surely there is at least a small handful of people that would be up for a regular monthly meetup(?) to:
*Meet new people
*Chat about comedy.
*Share with others the comedy they like (through the magic of staring at eachothers phones in person...or screen sharing via zoom online).
*Recommend to others venues, shows, publications etc that are worth seeing or reading- both during the comedy festival and throughout the year.
The plan is to do monthly meetings of a 1 hour duration either in person or online meets via Zoom- let me know your preference.
About me:
Born and raised in Melb.
I'm not a comedian myself- I've written a few little routines and tried a couple of open mics.
But due to having a young family etc, I don't currently have the time to be anything more than a comedy fan.
Which is fine- cos living in Melbourne is a pretty amazing place to be if you like comedy right?

This is a great little venue that hosts weekly showcase gigs for up and coming comedians.
Caz Reitops Booking link- $10 for a ticket
Around 10 comedians get up and do 5mins each, starting at 7.30pm.
The plan is that we meetup and say hi to each other in the bar at 7pm, then all head downstairs to watch the 1hr showcase from 7.30pm.
