SUP and Camping at Keowee Toxaway State Park

NEW LOCATION FOR PADDLE BUT NOT FOR CAMPING. I had to change the put in for our paddle on Saturday because apparently the one in the park gets really busy and there will likely not be enough room to park cars for those meeting us there for the day. The new putin in location "Crowe Creek Landing Boat Launch" in Pickens SC is 10 minutes from the campsites. We will meet at the the boat launch at 11:00 AM. For those driving in for the day, you are welcome to come to the state park after the paddle. I think there are some nice hiking trails and after 4:00 PM there is said to be parking available near the water. Please DM me if you have questions. Those of you camping, do not use the GPS for this event, I changed it to the boat launch. Instead put Keowee-Toxaway state park into your GPS.

Keowee Toxaway State Park is an hour and fifteen minute drive from Asheville. The address is Keowee-Toxaway State Park, 108 Residence Dr, Sunset, SC 29685. I have reserved three campsites, which means we are allowed six cars total. Dogs are allowed. The camp sites are not directly next to the water but we can get in our car and drive down a short road to get to the launch area. There is not electricity at the sites but there is a picnic table and a fire pit. Bathrooms are in the campground, a short walk from the sites.

If you prefer not to camp, you are welcome to come out and spend the day with us! I will have more details about when we will be paddling as the date gets closer.

For Camper, let's have an informal meeting up on Friday night since people will be arriving at all different times. And then lets have a group dinner on Saturday evening. We can decide together on the best paddle time for Saturday. You can Venmo me the money for your site. It is $30 per night, however, you might like to share your site with someone and share the expense.
