Colloquium: Woke Comic Books and Humanist Values
Details
Woke Comic Books and Humanist Values
Comic books have long exemplified progressive, Humanist values and it's time we talked about them! We'll listen to a superhero radio show before creating our own performance, followed by an inciteful short talk on superheroes, comics, and manga from around the world.
David Davidson is a writer, artist, and actor from Modesto who studied English at UC Berkeley with a concentration on Pop Culture and Mythology. He's a devout Humanist who worships at the shrine of Kurt Vonnegut. He writes and draws the graphic novel "Armadilla the Invincible", available as comic book and manga.
๐ฅซ Toy Drive
We will be collecting unwrapped toys (for children of all ages) to donate through the Soroptimist's Community Christmas Tree. Please consider bringing one or more toys to donate.
