Star Sapphire Lodge

Star Sapphire Lodge was born with the merger in 2009 of L.V.X. Lodge and Blue Horizon Oasis. Blue Horizon Oasis was founded in 2000 in Glendale, California. The idea of Blue Horizon Oasis was born on the beautiful beaches of Southern California: if you look over the waves into the blue horizon you can imagine the limitless possibilities that await you when you take that first step in any direction. The same holds true for humanity in that seemingly endless body of Nuit. Founded in 1989 by Frater S.L.Q. in Playa Del Rey, California, L.V.X. Lodge's name referred to a magical formula of Light employed in the Ritual of the Hexagram. Playa Del Rey was the site where many of the original Agape Lodge initiations took place in the 1930s and '40s. Star Sapphire Lodge intends to carry forward the best of both of these long and venerable traditions. By incorporating the magick, hospitality and traditions of both bodies, Star Sapphire Lodge will strive to promulgate the Law of Thelema with beauty and grace. Ordo Templi Orientis, of which Star Sapphire is a part, is a fraternal organization whose members are devoted to the study of Magick, Yoga and the Hermetic Sciences, and who are united in their acceptance of the Law of Thelema as a gateway to self-discipline, self-knowledge and universal freedom. The Law of Thelema may be summarized in a few deceptively simple words as "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law." We believe that, like all things, the best way to study and practice is to just do them! We are based out of Glendale, California, just north of downtown Los Angeles, and our main objective is to promulgate the Law of Thelema through Love, Fraternity and hard Work. Many of our events are open to non-members of Star Sapphire Lodge as well as members and initiates of Ordo Templi Orientis. In fact, we recommend that if you are not a member but are interested in joining, that you come to a few events first to see if it's the sort of energy you want to be involved with.
