Sebastian Delmont bio
Sebastian has more than 25 years of experience in Software Development. He's currently CTO at String, a recommendations and discovery app that lets you chat with friends and experts. He cofounded and was CTO of StreetEasy, where he lead the Engineering Team since 2005. StreetEasy was one of the earliest Ruby on Rails sites and he helped it scale to be the largest real estate site in New York City before it was acquired by Zillow in 2013. He earned a degree in Computer Science from Universidad Central de Venezuela and moved to New York City in 2001 with his first startup, Loquesea Networks. He is an active member of several technical communities in the city and has helped organize the Gotham Ruby Conference for several years.
He is a year-round bicycle commuter and is involved in several safe streets advocacy organizations, including being member of the boards of both StreetsPAC, focused on local politics, and StreetsBlog, providing news and opinion about better streets and transit.
