Hack Night: Hosted by YYCjs

Every Tuesday night from 6pm to 10pm, “Hack Nights” come alive with hustlers, hackers and hipsters coming together to work on their start-up ideas. If you are working on something tech related, and are in the pre-investment stage, this event is for you!

We will be partnering with the folks at YYCjs (https://www.meetup.com/YYC-js/) to bring you a YYCjs sponsored hack night. This meetup will be split into two parts. The first half hour will be beginner focused and the second half hour will be more advanced. Check it out:

1. Intro to NodeJS & the ecosystem, 6-6:30pm

• What is NodeJS?

• NodeJS, so hot right now

• Node ecosystem and npm

• Create a basic low level NodeJS server

2. Getting Real-time with Feathers, 6:30-7pm

• Brief explanation of Express

• What is feathers and why is it different?

• Build a slick photo sharing app, and sell it to facebook.

As per the Hack Night mandate, beer will be served ($5 each) and the space is ours to work and collaborate until 10pm. Join us and bring your friends!
