Niko is the managing director at General Catalyst, a venture capital firm with offices in San Francisco, Palo Alto, New York, Boston and over $5 billion in total capital raised. He doesn’t mind if you weren’t born in the U.S. (talent is universal, while opportunity is not) or if your accent sounds funny (his does for sure). He doesn’t care if you didn’t go to Stanford or if you aren’t a domain expert yet. Niko partners with tech founders who are learning animals and treat every decision as a learning moment; these are the types that become domain experts a few years later.

Alexia was listed by Forbes magazine as among the top 30 under 30 in the Media category. She departed the site in 2015 to earn her Master's in Management from Stanford's Graduate School of Business. After graduating and exploring her options, she began investing in companies in January 2018. Now, she's ready to make a name for herself in the VC world in the same way she did in media — and is looking, along with other women, to bring some much-needed diversity to the space in the process.

Niko Bonatsos is a managing director at General Catalyst, a venture capital firm with offices in San Francisco, Palo Alto, New York and approximately $3.75 billion in total capital raised. In his first six years with the firm, he was instrumental in investments in Snap (NYSE: SNAP), RealtyShares, ClassDojo and Paribus (recently acquired by CapitalOne) among others.

Alexia Bonatsos - TechCrunch (former co-editor)
Alexia Tsotsis is the former co-editor of TechCrunch. She attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA, majoring in Writing and Painting, and moved to New York City shortly after graduation to work in the media industry.
