A LOT has changed in the month since our last event! Covid-19 has kept everyone at home, but the economy hasn't stopped moving. 22 million Americans filed for unemployment since our last meeting, but some businesses are exploding with growth.

Now is THE time to sharpen your saw! Try something new, take a new direction! The greatest athletes win in the off season. While others are signing up for free streaming video games, you could be working with an exciting startup, sharpening your skills, developing your reputation, gaining valuable experience.

Seekers: If you are looking for an opportunity to get involved with a local startup as a volunteer, intern, contractor, or employee, this is your chance!

Founders: If you are a founder looking for help to launch your rocket further into the sky, this is your chance! After you sign up, send me a message on Meetup and I'll send you our template deck and rules of engagement.

A few notes to make this event even better:

REGISTRATION PROCESS: Signup for the event here on Meetup. Then use the link provide to register for the event on Zoom. I'm sorry for the two step process, but we're all figuring out how to do it! Be sure to use the SAME name for both. If I can't find your name in the paid list, I can't approve your registration in Zoom. I'll find a better unified approach for next month!

FOUNDERS: We want to mix it up. So, new startups that did not present previously will get priority in our line up. However, alumni startups will get an opportunity to make a 1-minute pitch since we expect to have many new people in the room. We want to facilitate as many introductions as possible while keeping the meeting interesting for returning Seekers.

FOUNDER PITCH DECK: Founders are not required to present. You are welcome to come and just mingle. If you would like to present, please message Mark Bullard directly in Meetup and I will send you a link to the template deck. All founders will use the same template deck. (I made some improvements to it based on feedback from last month.) You may change the background color, add images and add one or two additional slides with product screen shots or marketecture, but you must answer all questions in the template, and the presentation will be limited to 3-5 minutes depending on the lineup. Thank you! And this is NOT an investor preso. There will be no investors in the room.

MAXIMUM ATTENDANCE: 100 If the event is well attended, we'll set up follow on events to allow more people to attend if we can make the process valuable for BOTH Founders and Seekers. With 100 people you are likely to have a good chance to engage with others in the breakout rooms.

FAQ:
Q - How will I get to talk to Founders/Seekers after the presentations?
A - Each Founder will have their own breakout room. Seekers will indicate which room they want to attend through polling. Once a seeker is in a room, if they wish to switch rooms, they can chat the request to the host and one of the hosts will switch them to the requested room.

Q - What if I don't get a chance to meet the founder I want to meet?
A - We will post founders contact info for follow up. But the best approach is to seek them out on Linkedin with a friendly and informational request to connect.
