What we’re about

Startup Today - where people talk about startups, tech and innovation.

If you're involved in a startup, or thinking about starting one, chances are you can learn from others that are doing and thinking the same.

Startup Today is a catchup where founders, potential entrepreneurs and others in the startup community (VCs and Angels welcome) get together to learn something interesting, get feedback on ideas, vent frustrations, and meet some new friends in the game.

We look forward to seeing you there!

You can contact the organisers either by sending a message through this meetup group.

Founder Mornings - 'You probably don't need AI - when not to build or buy'

Level 1, 477 Pitt Street Haymarket, Sydney, AU

AI is everywhere - but do you really need it?

In our next Founder Mornings event, we're exploring: “You Probably Don’t Need AI”When (Not) to Build or Buy AI Tools - ft: Josh Fourie

    Details:
    🗓️ Tuesday, 11 November
    🕢 7:30 - 9:00 AM
📍 Stone & Chalk, Tech Central – 477 Pitt St, Sydney
☕ Coffee provided | Free to attend

In this practical Founder Morning, Josh Fourie, CTO & Founder of Decoded.AI, will walk us through how to say no to AI with confidence. You’ll learn simple, field-tested ways to quickly evaluate if an AI product is likely to help - or quietly sink your time, budget, and reputation.

Bring your coffee. Bring an AI tool you’re considering. And leave with a sharper, founder-first lens for making smart, fast decisions in an AI-flooded market.

    About the Speaker: Josh
Josh is the founder and CTO of Decoded.AI, a SaaS platform helping enterprises align AI systems with real-world risk frameworks like compliance, cost control, and security. Backed by both Australian government grants and private equity, Josh has led AI research for the Australian Department of Defence and regularly speaks on the cultural impact of ceding decisions to autonomous systems.

You’ll usually find him where AI, ethics, and infrastructure meet - urging founders to treat AI as a practice, not a product.

    Who Should Attend?
    • New founders navigating AI hype during product discovery
    • Entrepreneurs exploring AI for competitive edge
    • Product managers making build vs. buy decisions
    • The AI-curious who want practical frameworks, not just hype

Facilitated by Matt Ainsworth and supported by Tekkon
