This month, John and Mike will be presenting the first in a series of sessions on setting up an inexpensive 3D printer kit, tuning it, and making modifications to it, in order to produce the best prints that it is capable of. The printer that will be used for this series is a Creality 3D CR-10 (https://www.banggood.com/DIY-Creality-CR-10-3D-Printer-300300400mm-Printing-Size-1_75mm-0_4mm-Nozzle-p-1085645.html), that was purchased from Banggood (http://www.banggood.com) in China. So, if you have any interest in acquiring a printer, this series of meetups will give you are pretty good idea of what will be required to get it up and running, and producing decent prints. While a specific printer will be discussed, much of the information will be pretty generic, and applicable to any printer.
This meetup will be held in the kitchen, as the main meeting room is unavailable.
If you are interested in having online 3D printing discussions with some local people, or looking for a way to contact people in this group, our meetup has a Google group at 3D Printing Meetup (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/3d-printing-meetup). We require that you join the group in order to post, in an attempt to mitigate spam, but usually you will be approve quickly by one of the moderators.
