What we're about
This group is operated by STAR-TEC Enterprises, Inc. dba Tampa Bay Innovation Center 6/4/2021
Join a New Community for StartUps
After working with 100’s of technology start-ups and innovators, we at the Tampa Bay Innovation Center, realized the Tampa Bay area needed an informal program that would link entrepreneurs, talent in transition, scientists, funders, innovators, technology professionals and engineers – the people who want to make connections in the Tampa Bay innovation marketplace and move their ideas forward.
This program, StartUp Xchange, will help innovators and entrepreneurs meet and learn from each other and from the resource people whose experience can help further their idea/start-up company. We hope this will result in more startup companies that are formed/nurtured and become success stories for the Tampa Bay region.
Come join us for the next StartUp Xchange. Upcoming and past events are listed on this site.

The format for this Meet-Up has changed to a once a month video conference. Please join us for a peer-to-peer founder discussion about products, markets, and customers.
*** Format ***
As a spin-off of the Tampa Bay Innovation Center’s Tech Accelerator program, we will begin hosting a monthly session open to any founders that are creating or growing a B2B technology start-up in the Tampa Bay region. The focus of these sessions is to help founders get a better grasp of product discovery and go-to-market strategies, so they have a better chance of establishing early and sustainable traction with their product.
These will be informal Ask-Me-Anything (AMA) format with an emphasis on user engagement strategies to help identify early adopters and validate product value (preferably before it is built). Bring your business and technical challenges to discuss with the group because you are not alone in this effort to build a company and start-up issues are rarely unique to a single company.

Background: Ken Evans, Managing Director, Tech Accelerator
For those of you who don’t know me, I have 30+ years of senior management experience in a wide variety of tech industries and have launched over a dozen enterprise IT products. I co-hosted a similar meet-up group in 2008 and 2009, where we helped dozens of founders understand what it means to be a tech start-up and how to test the viability of their ideas.
These sessions are for any startup founder from the first timer to the serial entrepreneur who may be working on their next big idea. We will loosely follow the Pragmatic Marketing framework to help founders build the confidence that they need to evaluate and quantify market opportunities, plan products, and successfully launch their new venture.
