“Earthquakes: Nature’s Original Rock & Roll”

On Thursday April 17, the Staten Island Geological Society Inc. will host Professor Steve Okulewicz of Hofstra University’s Department of Geology & Environmental Sustainability, who will discuss “Earthquakes: Nature’s Original Rock & Roll” in light of the recent devastating earthquake in Thailand & Myanmar at the end of March. This presentation will explain how and where earthquakes are likely to occur around the world and more specifically what the potential is for earthquakes to occur in the New York and New Jersey metropolitan areas.
