Join us for an exciting and hands-on meeting as we explore “Minerals, Their Properties, and How to Identify Them.” We’ll take a closer look at the fascinating world of minerals—learning how to recognize them by color, hardness, luster, streak, and other key characteristics, led by Professor Steve Okulewicz, geologist from Hofstra University.
Members are encouraged to bring along any unknown minerals or rock specimens they’ve collected. Together, we’ll examine them and discuss possible identifications. We will also do our best to help you determine exactly what treasures you’ve found!
