March Fly Tying Night - 20 Incher Stonefly and Olive Midge

Join us every 4th Thursday as we gather to tie flies, share tips, and connect with fellow fly fishing enthusiasts!
This event is free, but space at the tying table is limited - please RSVP at info@ncriversandridges.com to save your seat! Everyone is welcome to attend, socialize and watch - even if you are not tying.
For beginners interested in tying fundamentals, stop by Carolina Mountain Sports before the event. Shop owner Richard Griggs is happy to help share the basics of tying to get you started.

For the 20 Incher Stonefly, we'll use...

- 2XL Curved Nymph hook (we're using size 10)
- Gold tungsten beadhead sized to match
- Stripped goose biots, brown
- Partridge feathers
- Grey dubbing or dirty bug yarn
- Tan Uni floss for body ribbing
- Peacock herl
- Turkey tail feather

For the Olive Midge, we'll use...

- Scud/Emerger hook, we'll use size 16
- beadhead size to match
- Ultra Wire brassie black
- Olive thread

As always, substitute materials/sizes/colors however you like, or with whatever you have on hand that still does the trick.
