R in the Cloud with Amazon Web Services

Details
Hello everyone,
I'm excited to announce the next meetup: R in the Cloud using Amazon Web Services.
Amazon will be sponsoring the meetup and hosting us in their Herndon, VA offices (near Dulles Airport) where they'll give a very short overview about all of their cloud computing service offerings, which include EC2 - virtual machines, Elastic Map Reduce - a service offering that lets you start and stop a Hadoop cluster without having to deal with all the Hadoop management itself, S3 storage, etc. Many thanks to Amazon for having us and for providing food an refreshlemts. Amazon is hiring software developers here in Herndon. For more information, go to http://aws.amazon.com/careers/ and change the location to US-VA-Herndon.
I will then be giving a presentation about my current work using R on the cloud with all of the services. I'll be talking about best practices, technical challenges, and the learnings, and give a short live demo.
Thanks to member feedback, we'll also have a short "The doctoR is IN" segment at the end where R users will be able to explain a problem they are working on and what questions they are having. The idea is to give a 1 minute overview about the problem, and then allow for 5 minutes of Q&A. The topic does not need to be realted to the meetup topic, it can be anything. Please participate and let me know if you'd like to ask for help. If we get 2-3 posing great questions and challenges to the group, we'll get great learnings.
See you on the 24th!
FYI - The building door closes at 6pm but someone will be downstairs to open the door.
