Orinda to Berkeley via EBMUD (8.3mi,1700ft)

Hikers only, no dogs.
Join us for a hike beginning at Orinda BART passing through the Berkley Hills ending at Rockridge BART. We will then take BART back to our cars at Orinda BART. This will include beautiful views of Briones Reservoir, UC Berkeley, the Bay, SF, Mt Tam, You will need to bring a Clipper card or cash to ride BART. We will stop for lunch at the "Steam Train" area of Tilden Park. There are restrooms and water located there.
We will hike at a comfortable pace (22 to 25 minute miles) with brief intermittent stops to ensure the group stays together, and a 15-minute or so snack break. There may be no picnic tables at our lunch spot, so you might wish to bring something to sit on.
No fee for parking, and there is a large parking lot. Bathrooms are not available at the trailhead so please plan accordingly before you arrive.
Weather forecast is for 59 to 70 degrees, 7MPH wind, partly cloudy. Please prepare for the hike with layered clothing, hat and/or sunscreen, and at least two liters of water to drink. Hiking poles may come in handy.
