What we're about

St. Charles Singles Club was formed in 1977 for singles over 40 who like to dance, take dance lessons, meet for breakfast or dinner at different restaurants, go to live plays, play cards (pinochle, samba, bridge, or hand & foot), go on picnics, road rallys, car pool, pool tables, day trips and socialize with other singles.

Our dances are held at the beautiful Villa Olivia Country Club, 1401 West Lake Street, Bartlett, IL - the corner of Lake Street (Rte 20) and Naperville Rd. (building on the Left as you enter the parking lot). Dances are scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of every month. $3 dance lessons are 6:30 to 7:30 PM - NO PARTNER NEEDED as you dance with everyone taking the lesson including the instructors. DJ Fast Freddy music from 7:30 to 11:00 PM. Members $6.00 and non-members $10. No registration required for the dances. Sign ups required on some activities to reserve your spot. You do not have to be a member to join in on our activities.

When a 5th Monday occurs, we hire various local LIVE BANDS. Members $8.00, and non-members $12.00. Become a member and save $4 on the dances.

In 2015, our membership increased to 252 plus over 200 inquires from Meetup.com. Attendance at our regular dances is over 100 and thanks to volunteers calling members and Meetup.com, our attendance at our live band dances is between 150 and 200. Our activities have been: breakfasts, lunches and dinners, Road Rally, foreign flavors, dance lessons, candlelight bowl, bocco ball, picnic, card and game night activities at Pottawatomie Park, fish boil and a Christmas Dinner Dance. This year we went to new restaurants, did historic house walks, free concerts in Carol Stream, plays at the Paramount, the Palms and Steel Beam Theatres, we had theme dances like the Super Bowl Shuffle, went to a Cougar Baseball Game, played Mini Golf, saw a Puppet Show and a Car Show. We went to the Arlington Race Track “Chicago Blackhawks Day”, a Hot Air Balloon fair, Winter Snow Sculpting Competition in Wisconsin and an Air show. Last year 52 of us did a Mob Flash Dance at Spring Hill Mall in West Dundee. This year we learned to dance like a mummy to Michael Jackson’s – Thriller.

Membership Dues is $25 a year. Forms are on our web site. Mail your filled out form and check to: St. Charles Singles Club, P. O. Box 54, St. Charles, IL 60174-0054 or give to the Host at one of our activities.
