The Fargo Mark Knutson Friday Night 5K

This local 5K is popular with group members and has become an annual event for us.
The 5K begins and ends on the Concordia campus, with a 3.1 mile route that runs through residential neighborhoods and a park in Moorhead.
Named for the late Mark Knutson, who founded the Fargo Marathon and other event races and served as Executive Director for 19 years, this event kicks off the marathon weekend at 6:30pm on Friday, May 29th.
Experience the enthusiasm and energy of walkers, runners, event staff and the community while jamming to 80’s music.
The registration fee for the 5K is $34.00 until January 25th, 2026 at 11:59pm, then it goes up to $54.00.
