About us
Founded in 1981, the Stevens Creek Striders are an all-ages social trail running group in Cupertino, CA. Every Saturday morning at 8:30, you will find us at the Stevens Creek County Park reservoir parking lot (maps.app.goo.gl/LK2z7qvRoTq86Ao18) (Cupertino, CA). We are eager to spend the morning sharing the trails and each other’s company, often followed by brunch nearby.
Runners (and hikers) of all backgrounds and abilities are welcome every Saturday or at any other time, whether you are new to trails or eyeing your next 100-miler. Please do not worry if you think you’re slow – we will naturally spread out during the run but also regroup regularly. No one is left behind, and no one will mind having more time to chat; we are here because we want to spend this time together.
Much more information can be found at our website: https://stevenscreekstriders.com and on out Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/stevenscreekstriders
Beyond our Saturday gatherings, we organize runs in other parks throughout the year, manage aid stations at several prominent races, and host our own race in September. The end of year has been capped off with a yearly celebration, the Annual Striders Party. We hope to see you on the trails with us!

Predictive Run / Picnic!
Location not specified yetThink you can predict how fast you can run a set route? This race isn't about how fast you can go, but how accurately you can predict your finish time. Join us for our annual Predictive Run, where sometimes losers are winners and vice-versa!
Entrants in the predictive run must go without any timepieces (watches, phones, etc). At 8:30am, the President will distribute a map of the secret ~10K route to all the runners. After runners have been given a chance to study the map and consider distance, elevation profile, weather, and navigation challenges (the course will not be marked), the entrants will individually submit their predicted completion times to the nominal race director. The run will start sometime between 8:45 and 9:00 depending on that morning's level of disorganization. The "winner" of the event will be the runner or runners who are closest to their predicted finishing time (absolute values ok). There is no entry fee for this competition, and this is reflected in the awards (official awards are limited to club members, but everyone can compete for bragging rights).

Following the run, or around 10:30 for those who choose to forego the run, we’ll have our annual potluck picnic by the creek. The club will provide drinks. Please note that we will meet at the lower parking lot this week (https://maps.app.goo.gl/5tkkX3p98kzw5WrL6).
There is a $6 charge for parking in the lot closest to the picnic area. The pay station is near the entrance to the parking lot (https://maps.app.goo.gl/yj1fRYZ1u7zk35A37).

Start the weekend with a great trail run above Cupertino!
Dam parking lot, 11997 Stevens Canyon Rd, Cupertino, CA, USNo RSVP necessary, all are welcome! Every Saturday we meet at the dam parking lot along Stevens Canyon Road. There is available free parking adjacent to the paid parking at the Dam. (Just park along the road UNLESS THERE ARE SIGNS DISALLOWING IT. ). See map (maps.app.goo.gl/LK2z7qvRoTq86Ao18). Or you can pay for parking at the machine near the entrance.
We run (jog or walk) about 6 to 8 miles, while there are always some runners that extend to 10+ miles. We typically split into 2 or 3 groups based on how fast and long people want to go. There is a group for every speed and distance. We never leave anyone alone on the trail and always wait for slower runners. There almost consistently are a dozen or more of us running each Saturday (rain or shine). Almost nobody actually signs up via Meetup, so don't be discouraged if you see only a couple signed up (our hosts). If the meetup ever gets cancelled then we will remove this invite. Come and join us any Saturday you like! There is no need to be a member to join for these runs, but of course we always welcome people who want to become members.
