milk shake wash

5 miles, 200’ gain?? this is a new hike. I have never seen any trail info on this wash. I made up the name because it runs just west of hamburger rock. it looks like a nice gentle incline with no crazy cliffs to negotiate. both from the road and on the maps. but I have not been here before, so we will need to be ready for the possibility of the unexpected.

we will hike up-wash about 2.5 miles. see what there is to see. it should put us right near the utah border in the middle of nowhere…. then turn around and hike back out. no trail. bushwhacking the whole way, but there is sparse foliage in this desert. should be smooth. up for an adventure?

The gorge has awesome, majestic views and towering canyon walls. very beautiful to my eye, though certainly stark and inhospitable. I hope to more exploring here over the years.
